What Are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are injectable treatments that commonly use hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found within the body. A suitable product can be used to add volume or refine lip contour, definition and proportion. The choice of product, amount and technique must be considered individually.
A beautiful lip result involves more than the lips alone. We assess the Cupid’s bow, vermilion border, side profile, dental support, existing asymmetry and how the upper and lower lips relate to one another. Previous filler and any concerns about migration or lumps are also part of that assessment.

Different patients want different changes. Some want little more than a clearer border or restored softness; others want a more noticeable shape. Your treatment should start with what you would like to achieve, rather than an assumed volume.

Considered enhancement of your natural lip outline and overall shape, while respecting the features that make your lips individual.
Definition
Careful attention to the lip border and Cupid’s bow where the anatomy allows, creating a clearer but not necessarily heavier outline.
Volume
A personalised increase in fullness, from discreet enhancement to a more noticeable result, where clinically appropriate.
Hydration & Softness
Hyaluronic-acid filler may improve the appearance of softness and fullness; the specific product is selected according to the intended result.

Natural Lip Filler vs. Russian Lip Filler
Two distinct aesthetics. One guiding principle: technique should follow anatomy — not a trend.
Natural Lip Filler
An approach focused on soft, balanced enhancement. The priority may be delicate volume, a clearer outline, improved proportion or subtle correction of asymmetry — while keeping the result closely aligned with your natural lips.
Russian Lip Filler
A more sculpted aesthetic, often placing greater emphasis on vertical height, central definition and the Cupid’s bow. This look is not suitable for every anatomy, especially where previous filler or lip structure makes the desired shape difficult to achieve safely.

Your consultation is a chance to explain what you want to change — and what you want to preserve. We look at the lips both at rest and in movement, discuss previous filler and assess whether a Natural Lip Filler, Russian Lip Filler or bespoke combination is appropriate.

Understand
We discuss your preferences, medical history, previous treatments and expectations. If old filler, persistent lumps or migration are present, these need assessment before a plan is made.

Assess & Plan
Your practitioner considers lip anatomy, symmetry, profile and the relationship between the upper and lower lips. Product, technique and amount are selected for your individual plan.

Prepare
The treatment, alternatives, limitations and possible risks are explained before consent. The area is cleansed and comfort measures are discussed.

Treat
Filler is placed carefully according to the agreed plan, with ongoing assessment of shape, balance and tissue response. The appointment is generally around 30–45 minutes.

Review
Immediate changes include swelling, so the first appearance is not the final result. You receive personalised aftercare and information on when to contact the clinic.

05 | Results, Recovery & Aftercare
Let Your Result Settle Beautifully.
You will see a change immediately after treatment, but the initial appearance is affected by swelling. Mild tenderness and bruising are also possible. Your lips will change as they recover, which is why we advise allowing time before assessing the result.

- The lips may feel tender and appear swollen. Avoid judging the final shape immediately.
- First 24–48 hours
- Swelling may be more noticeable during this period; bruising and temporary asymmetry can occur.
- Days 3–7
- Many patients notice gradual improvement as swelling and tenderness ease, although individual recovery differs.
- Around 2 weeks
- Most visible swelling has often reduced; your practitioner may review the result if appropriate.
- Up to approximately 4 weeks
- Allow further settling before making a final aesthetic assessment. Healing varies from person to person.
Aftercare: The Essentials
Your individual aftercare instructions take priority. The clinic’s existing guidance advises avoiding very hot drinks and spicy foods for 24–48 hours, strenuous exercise for about three days, lipstick or gloss for three days, kissing for one week, and strong UV exposure, saunas and sunbeds for around ten days. Limit alcohol during the first 24 hours. Avoid direct ice or extreme temperatures on freshly treated lips.
Follow the cleansing and balm instructions provided after treatment. Do not massage your lips unless your practitioner specifically advises it; any massage technique and timing should be demonstrated for your individual treatment.

When to Contact the Clinic
Contact the clinic urgently for unusually severe or increasing pain, white/pale or dusky skin colour, or other symptoms that feel abnormal. Sudden visual symptoms after filler require immediate emergency medical assessment. The practitioner will discuss possible complications and emergency contact instructions before treatment.
