01 | Treatment Overview

Consultation for Lines, Wrinkles & Facial Movement

Subtle by design. Personalised to you.

At ART FACE Clinic, treatment begins with understanding how your face moves — not simply where a line appears. We assess facial anatomy, muscle strength, proportions, symmetry and the result you would like to achieve before recommending the most appropriate treatment plan.

For some patients, the priority is softening expression lines that have become more noticeable over time. For others, treatment may form part of a preventative approach designed to reduce repeated muscular movement before lines become more deeply established.

The objective is never to erase expression. It is to create a fresher, smoother and beautifully balanced appearance while preserving the character of your face.

What Is Botox®?

Botox® is a widely recognised brand of botulinum toxin type A, a prescription-only medicine used in both aesthetic and medical practice. When clinically appropriate, very small amounts are placed into selected muscles to temporarily reduce the activity responsible for certain expression lines or functional concerns.

Every smile, frown and raised eyebrow creates movement within the muscles beneath the skin. Over time, repeated movement can contribute to lines across the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes. By carefully targeting specific muscles, treatment can soften the appearance of these dynamic lines while allowing surrounding areas to continue moving naturally.

The effect is temporary. Muscle activity gradually returns over time, which is why results usually soften progressively rather than disappearing suddenly.

02 | The ART FACE Approach

Refinement, Not Reinvention.

At ART FACE Clinic, we do not believe Botox® should make you look different.

Before treatment, your practitioner considers the strength and position of your facial muscles, brow shape, facial proportions, natural asymmetries and the way you express yourself. These details matter because the same number of units or the same injection pattern can look very different from one face to another.

The aim is not to remove every line or restrict every movement. It is to use precise, considered treatment to soften what feels distracting while maintaining expression, balance and individuality.

For some patients, that may mean an exceptionally light-touch treatment. Others may require a different pattern or dose because their muscles are naturally stronger. There is no universal treatment plan — and there should not be.

Prevention. Refinement. Balance.

Botulinum toxin may be considered at different stages of the ageing process. Some patients begin to explore treatment when expression lines remain visible even after the face relaxes. Others are more interested in preventing repeated movement from allowing those lines to become increasingly established.

Age alone does not determine whether treatment is appropriate. Skin quality, muscle strength, facial anatomy, lifestyle, previous treatment and your personal goals all influence the recommendation made during consultation.

03 | What Can Be Assessed?

From Expression Lines to Facial Balance.

Botulinum toxin is best known for softening dynamic lines, but its use can extend beyond the upper face. Depending on your concern and clinical suitability, consultation may include the lower face, jawline, neck and selected functional concerns.

Medical & Functional Applications

Botulinum toxin also has established and specialist medical uses. At ART FACE Clinic, any functional treatment is considered separately from aesthetic treatment and requires an appropriate clinical assessment.

04 | Consultation & Treatment

A Treatment Plan Built Around Your Face.

The consultation is one of the most important parts of the ART FACE approach. You do not need to arrive knowing how many areas or how many units you need. That decision should follow a proper assessment — not precede it.

  1. 01

    Understand Your Goals

We begin by discussing what you have noticed, what you would like to soften or rebalance, whether you have had treatment before and how much movement you would like to retain. Your medical history and any relevant medications are also reviewed.

  2. 02

    Assess Facial Movement

Your practitioner looks at your face both at rest and in movement. You may be asked to frown, smile, raise your brows or clench the jaw so that muscle strength, asymmetry and the relationship between different areas can be assessed.

  3. 03

    Create the Plan

If treatment is clinically suitable, the areas, placement, dose and desired degree of relaxation are considered individually. A stronger muscle does not necessarily mean a heavier-looking result; careful dosing is about controlling movement rather than simply using more product.

  4. 04

    Treatment

The skin is cleansed and small amounts are placed into selected muscles using a fine needle. The procedure itself is usually brief. Most patients describe the injections as quick pinpricks rather than significant discomfort.

  5. 05

    Review

The result continues to develop after you leave the clinic. Where appropriate, a review may be advised once the treatment has had time to settle so that the outcome can be assessed accurately.

The treatment should follow your anatomy — not a template.

How Much Treatment Do I Need?

There is no meaningful answer based only on age or the number of visible lines. Dose is influenced by muscle strength, anatomy, previous response to treatment, the area being treated and the amount of movement you would like to preserve. This is why two patients treating the same area may receive very different treatment plans.

05 | Results, Recovery & Aftercare

Results Develop Gradually.

Results are not immediate. Many patients begin to notice a change within approximately 3–7 days, with the effect becoming easier to assess at around 10–14 days. The treated muscles gradually regain activity over time, so results commonly last around 3–4 months, although this varies between patients and treatment areas.

Temporary redness, mild tenderness, small raised areas at injection points or occasional bruising can occur shortly after treatment. These effects are generally short-lived.

Aftercare — Keep It Simple

  • Avoid rubbing or applying unnecessary pressure to the treated areas immediately after your appointment.
  • Follow your practitioner's personalised advice regarding exercise, heat exposure, alcohol, skincare and other activities after treatment.
  • Allow the result time to develop before deciding whether an area needs further treatment.
  • Contact ART FACE Clinic if you experience symptoms that concern you or differ from the recovery guidance provided.

Your practitioner will also discuss uncommon risks and the signs that would require prompt clinical advice before you consent to treatment.

08 | Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Patients Commonly Ask

That is not the objective of the ART FACE approach. We discuss how much movement you would like to preserve and plan treatment accordingly. A natural result depends on anatomy, dose, placement and clinical judgement rather than simply treating fewer or more areas.

All treatments begin with a personal consultation. Results vary between individuals and a suitability assessment is always carried out by our practitioner.

09 | Final Consultation

Your Face. Your Movement. Your Treatment Plan.

A consultation at ART FACE Clinic is designed to help you understand what is contributing to the concern you see and which treatment options, if any, may be appropriate for you.

We will assess your facial movement, proportions and medical suitability, discuss the result you would like to achieve and create a plan that respects the individuality of your face.

Not more treatment. The right treatment, in the right place, for the right face.
